AI Robotics Summer Program Overview
What It’s About: Dive into robotics and AI with a fully immersive, hands-on summer program hosted by PolyU and IYOF. Across six packed days, students will explore cutting-edge robotics technology, AI integration, and real-world problem-solving challenges.
What Students Will Learn:
How to build and program real robots using ROS and Python.
LiDAR mapping, SLAM, and precision motion control techniques.
Integrating AI voice commands, emotion sensing, and conversational memory into robots.
Working with advanced robotics concepts like dynamic obstacle avoidance and system integration.
Team-based problem solving through hackathons and final robot competitions.
Presenting solutions and innovations to industry experts.

Program Breakdown by Day:
Day 1: Building the Machine Body — Learn robot structure, assemble components, and start SLAM mapping.
Day 2: Robot Motion Control — Master PID tuning, speed challenges, and dynamic obstacle avoidance.
Day 3: AI Voice Integration — Explore LLM applications in robotics, including voice commands and emotion lighting.
Day 4: System Integration — Build and test multifunctional robots with navigation, interaction, and visual recognition.
Day 5: Final Competition Prep — Debug, rehearse, and present robot solutions to experts.
Bonus Day: HKSTP Visit — Tour Hong Kong Science and Technology Park and meet industry professionals.
