This summer, Invent Your Own Future continued its partnership with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University to deliver hands-on learning experiences that introduced students to technology, creativity, and future-facing careers.

Fintech & Investment Banking
Summer Camp 2026
Hosted at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the PolyU x IYOF Fintech & Investment Banking Bootcamp gave upper secondary students a rigorous, hands-on introduction to the world of finance.
Across five intensive days, students stepped into a learning environment that combined quantitative thinking, market research, portfolio construction, and live presentation experience. Led by industry professionals and university educators, the bootcamp introduced students to how investment ideas are formed, tested, challenged, and communicated in the real world.
The programme moved from the ground up: financial foundations, mathematics, and statistics in the earlier sessions; risk and return assessment, modelling, valuation, and derivatives in the technical core; and broader personal-development themes such as self-management, breathing, resilience, goal-setting, and leadership as part of the wider learning experience. Students were encouraged not only to understand markets, but also to think more clearly about decision-making, responsibility, and what it means to lead.
A major highlight of the bootcamp was the AI Fund Manager Competition. Students were divided into four teams, each operating as its own simulated fund management company. Within each team, student leaders took on roles such as CEO, portfolio manager, research lead, and risk manager as they worked together to design an investment strategy for a US$1,000,000 client mandate under a live macro scenario. Their task was not simply to pick assets, but to build a coherent portfolio, explain the investment thesis, assess risks, and present their recommendation with clarity and conviction.
The final capstone showcase brought this work to life. Across the afternoon presentation session, teams presented their portfolios and decks, defended their reasoning, and demonstrated both technical understanding and teamwork. The closing ceremony featured speeches from IYOF leadership, senior business figures, advisors, educators, and community supporters, followed by certificate presentations for students and teaching assistants, recognition for lecturers and speakers, and awards for the strongest-performing teams.
More than just a finance camp, the programme reflected IYOF’s commitment to making future-focused education more accessible, practical, and inspiring. By combining technical finance training with communication, leadership, and real-world problem-solving, students were challenged to think not only like learners, but like builders, decision-makers, and future leaders.

Hong Kong PolyU Swift App Development Summer Camp 2026
This summer’s PolyU x IYOF Swift Programming Summer Camp was a tremendous success.
Over five days at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, students were introduced to the world of coding, app development, and digital creativity through a hands-on learning experience designed for Grade 6 to 8 students. From their first steps in Swift to shaping ideas into simple working applications, participants were encouraged to see technology not just as something they use, but as something they can build.
Throughout the programme, students took part in practical coding activities, developed their own app ideas, and learned directly from instructors and teaching assistants in a supportive, project-based environment. Students with little or no prior programming experience made strong progress in a short period of time, while those with existing experience were able to push further, creating more personalised and imaginative projects that reflected their own interests and ways of thinking.
The programme concluded with a Day 5 showcase and awards presentation that celebrated achievement across a wide range of strengths — from overall app quality, innovation, problem-solving, and SwiftUI build execution, to design thinking, debugging, presentation, interactivity, and most improved progress. This gave students the chance not only to build, but also to present, reflect, and be recognised for the different ways they had grown over the week.
More than just a summer camp, the programme reflected IYOF’s mission of making future-focused education more accessible. By learning through doing, students were encouraged to code, experiment, create, and grow in confidence — not only in what they could make on screen, but in how they could imagine their own place in a technology-shaped future.

Invent Your Own Future is proudly partner with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to provide annual summer bootcamp opportunities in technology and artificial intelligence for high school students. In addition, IYOF has also hosted career panels, workshops and discussions in the fields of sports, law, finance and medicine.
Hong Kong PolyU Neuroscience and AI Summer Camp 2025
This summer’s PolyU x IYOF Embodied AI Robotics and Neuroscience & AI Bootcamps were a tremendous success.
Over 80 students from Hong Kong and abroad gathered at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University to explore the future of science and technology, from building intelligent robots capable of navigation and communication, to examining how AI is transforming neuroscience research, healthcare, and regenerative medicine.
Throughout the programs, students took part in hands-on challenges, learned directly from professors and industry professionals from PolyU, Stanford, and UBSN, and presented innovative projects that reflected their creativity, curiosity, and teamwork. The bootcamps concluded with industry visits to UBSN, as well as recognition awards for Best Innovation, Best Presentation, and Best Teamwork.
More than just summer programs, these bootcamps reflected IYOF’s mission of making future-focused education more accessible. By learning through doing, students were encouraged to code, experiment, collaborate, and imagine beyond boundaries.

Visit to the Legislative Council
As part of the Invent Your Own Future programme, we organised a visit for our students to the Legislative Council (LegCo) of Hong Kong. The group had the opportunity to meet Hon. Member of the Legislative Council, who generously took time to engage with the students directly.
The visit began with a discussion in the boardroom, where students [heard about the Member's work and the role of LegCo / asked questions about policymaking and public service / discussed issues that mattered to them]. The conversation gave students a first-hand understanding of how legislation is shaped and the responsibilities that come with public office.
Following the discussion, the group was taken on a guided tour of the LegCo complex, including, seeing the Chamber, committee rooms, and other key areas. Walking through the spaces where Hong Kong's laws are debated and passed brought the earlier conversation to life and left students with a tangible sense of the institution.
The visit was a valuable experience, encouraging students to think about their own potential role in shaping the future of their community.
